How to Lead and Facilitate a Sharing Circle

Course Summary

This course is a guide for creating and leading a support group. The format taught in the course is called a sharing circle. Sharing circles are an ancient way of bringing people together in a structured, safe, and sacred space. The nature of a circle is that every member is an equal, and everyone’s truth is honored. This course covers how to lead a circle, begin a session, and expectations for all the group members. It would be a good idea for all the members of your circle to take the course to learn the format and ground rules that keep a sharing circle safe.

Maryann Broberg

I am a skilled Educator, Ed Tech, and Instructional Coach for Weber School District where I work with children in adolescence. My work teaching students and coaching teachers led me to seek more training and skills in helping people deal with trauma. I became a certified trauma-informed Life Coach.

One of my greatest passions and loves in life is my work as a facilitator and co-creator of Daughters of Light, an organization that provides experiential healing retreats for women with a focus on healing physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My areas of training include neurolinguistic programming, meditation and mindfulness, somatic healing practices, holistic inquiry, and embodiment. I help people get into their bodies.

I believe the body is the key to healing trauma and rewriting unconscious patterns and strategies that we engage in every day. If we can get present and tuned in to what is going on in our bodies, we can heal it.
